Abhyanga (Sanskrit: अभ्यंग) means ‘lovingly oiling the body’. It is one of the world's oldest documented therapeutic massages – this technique has been practised in India for over 1,000 years.
During an Abhyanga massage, your whole body is massaged with warm, plant-based herbal oil. The oils follow traditional recipes from Kerala in southern India, where they are prepared using centuries-old methods.
What makes it special: the massage follows your body's natural energy pathways and stimulates important vital points (Marma points). The warm oil penetrates deep into the tissues and supports your body's self-healing abilities.
💡 Good to know: Abhyanga is not a spa massage, but a therapeutic treatment. It is recognised and reimbursed by most Swiss supplementary health insurance plans.

No need to feel uncertain – here is exactly what to expect
10 minutes
When you arrive, I offer you a cup of tea and we take time to discuss your current symptoms. What is troubling you? Where do you feel pain? Are there any areas I should pay particular attention to? Based on this conversation, I select the right oil for you.
5 minutes
You settle comfortably on the massage table. The room is heated to a pleasant 26°C. Gentle music, soft lighting and the scent of herbs create a relaxing atmosphere. You keep your underwear on – only the area being massaged is uncovered.
50–80 minutes
Using warm oil (38–40°C), I massage your whole body from head to toe. The movements are flowing and rhythmic, sometimes gentler, sometimes with more pressure. I work along the energy pathways and give your problem areas special attention. All you need to do is let go.
10 minutes
After the massage, you rest for a few more minutes. The oil can penetrate more deeply and take effect. I bring you a warm herbal tea. There is no rush – you decide when you are ready.
5 minutes
To finish, I give you a few simple tips for the next few days: what to eat, how to prolong the benefits and when to shower. No complicated rules – just practical advice to help you.
